From the initial design phases  Rowheels engineers understood that for the REV wheels to be a truly great product, the functionality of pulling to go forward would have to be packaged in a wheel that was ergonomic, durable and visually appealing. With that in mind, every component in a Rowheel has been carefully selected or engineered to meet those requirements.

REV WHEELS ARE MADE WITH ADVANCED MATERIALS AND COMPONENTS IN AN EFFORT TO PRODUCE A PRODUCT THAT IS RELIABLE,  DURABLE  AND SEAMLESSLY FUNCTIONAL.

DESIGNED TO BE RIGID WHEN PULLING AND COMPLIANT WHEN BRAKING, THE TRI-SPOKE HUB IS MADE USING A HIGH STRENGTH GLASS FIBER COMPOSITE.

tHE WHEEL HUB/HOUSING IS MADE FROM A MAGNESIUM ALLOY USED IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY THAT IS STRONG, ULTRA LIGHT WEIGHT AND ATTENUATES VIBRATIONS.

OUR GEARS ARE MADE USING A UNIQUE ENGINEERING POLYMER THAT ALLOWS FOR PRECISION COMPONENTS WITH A REMARKABLE COMBINATION OF STRENGTH, STIFFNESS, AND LOW WEAR WHILE BEING SIX TIMES LIGHTER THAN STEEL GEARS.

 

OUR STEEL COMPONENTS ARE PRECIPITATION HARDENED AND HEAT-TREATED, RESULTING IN EXTREMELY STRONG AND RELIABLE PARTS.

ENSURING THE DURABILITY AND RELIABILITY OF THE REV DESIGN REQUIRED RIGOROUS STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS WHICH INCLUDED  THE USE OF POWERFUL COMPUTATIONAL TOOLS SUCH AS FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS.

ONCE THE ENGINEERING DESIGN PHASE WAS COMPLETE, WE RAN OUR WHEELS THROUGH A VARIETY OF EXTREME TEST CONDITIONS TO VALIDATE THE DESIGN AND ENSURE PROPER FUNCTIONING AND LONG SUSTAINED USE.

EASY ON THE HANDS

UNLIKE STANDARD SPOKED WHEELS, WHERE MOUNTING AND REMOVING REQUIRES GRABBING THE SPOKES. ROWHEELS' DESIGNERS  INCORPORATED A SPECIALLY DESIGNED “TRI-HANDLE” THAT ALLOWS THE USER TO COMFORTABLY GRAB HOLD AND PUSH THE QUICK RELEASE BUTTON.

ALL REV WHEELS COME  WITH OPTIONAL OVAL HANDRIMS, which HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO REDUCE HAND AND WRIST PAIN IN MANUAL WHEELCHAIR USERS. FOR USERS WITH REDUCED OR NO GRIP, WE ALSO OFFER Q-GRIP HANDRIMS.

IN ORDER TO ENGAGE ROWHEELS' DRIVE SYSTEM, THE TORQUE ARM (SHOWN ABOVE) PIN NEEDS TO BE ENGAGED AND LOCKED INTO OUR UNIVERSAL CLAMP, WHICH FITS ON  MOST POPULAR WHEELCHAIR FRAMES. ALL THE USER HAS TO DO IS PUSH THE QUICK RELEASE BUTTON ON THE HUB, SLIDE THE AXLE INTO THE CHAIR RECEIVER, AND  PULL ON THE HAND RIM UNTIL THEY HEAR A "CLICK" FROM EACH WHEEL. THAT SOUNDS MEANS THEY ARE LOCKED IN AND READY TO GO!
